Initial Assessment
During an initial podiatry assessment, we will carry out a comprehensive evaluation to understand your foot health and identify any underlying issues. This typically includes a neurovascular assessment to check blood flow and nerve function in the feet, using tools such as a Doppler ultrasound and monofilament. A basic musculoskeletal (MSK) assessment is also performed to assess joint mobility, muscle strength, alignment, and gait, helping to identify any causes of the issues you are experiencing. Additionally, a footwear assessment is conducted to evaluate whether your shoes provide adequate support, fit correctly, and may be contributing to any existing problems. The information gathered allows for us to form a diagnosis and develop a tailored treatment plan to address your specific needs.
Prior to your appointment you will be asked to complete and sign three introductory forms providing information about your current concerns and provide a brief overview of your medical history, and consent to treatment. Please be assured that all questions are directly relevant to your treatment.
Your information will be kept strictly confidential. We adhere to the Data Protection Act and, like all healthcare professionals, are committed to maintaining patient confidentiality.
